Back to school..

So... I haven't posted in a very, very long time.. hahaha
Well, It's back to school for me, and I'm finally in my HSC year, not looking forward to this time next year... University exams. Gross.
Anyway, since we all knew that once we started our HSC year we would have to settle down and study, etc etc, (No choice, since I go to a selective school, and that means, it's all about the academics... ) for the last time ever, we would go crazy.
So here is a brief summary of the past two weeks, the last stress free holiday in a while.
(Photos are scarce since one of my friends who took lots of photos deactivated on Facebook ): and  another note, I'm not being vain by cropping the others out, that's just in case they don't want to be on here.. hahaha)

First event of the holidays worth mentioning was a get together at a friend's, pree cool, not so crazy just sat around and chilllllled.
Second event was so much fun ! It was the my old school's Year 11 Social, and it was just a night filled with crazy dancing on a cosy boat sailing on the Sydney Harbour. Can't post too many pictures cause you'll realise the extent of our retardedness..

The next event I hosted ! It was so fun, I kinda feel proud having organised such a large-scaled party ! The theme was White / Glow in the dark and we hired UV blacklights which made everyone glow. Over 100 people attended and it was super tiring but so fun !!
Looking kinda fat and tired from running around with prep. :$ awks.

Then during the weekend, I went on a road trip with my family, Woolongong on the Saturday and Canberra for the Floriade on Sunday.

Flowers. Flowers everywhere.

Then I had another social ! This one was for my current school, was also on a boat at Darling
Harbour. Was super fun, new shoes gave me blisters though, and those are never fun. ):
OOTN - outfit of the night. (;

My Jeffery Campbell's (Right)  + another pair of JC's ! ♥

Beautiful view !
Last but not least, (Definately not least !) on the last (weekday) of the holidays I went with a group of friends down to Bondi Beach ! But before that, we made a stop at the newly opened Sydney Topshop (+Topman) !! It was amazing. Just 4 floors of beautiful things.

Here we are being suspicious & sneaky while taking pictures cause we felt daggy in our beachwear. (:

Tiptoes cause I'm short. hahaha

Overall it was a pretty good last holiday. (: ( I did miss out on a friend's 21st though ! D: ) But, I think it'll last me awhile, I hope. Hahahah,
But for now.. Back to school..

OPI Haul & Review; Ridge Filler, Nail Envy, Drip Dry, Thanks a Windmillion, Mermaid Tears

My latest online purchase arrived in the mail today !
Perfect excuse to ditch the books and procrastinate. (':

I bought OPI's Ridge Filler, Nail Envy, Drip Dry and two colours; Thanks a Windmillion and Mermaid Tears.
Kinda a stupid choice given they are almost the exact same colour, a darkish minty greeny colour, ahhahah... except that TAW is a bit more grey.

LOVE LOVE LOVE, Ridge Filler, Nail Envy and Drip Dry !!
I was never really a nails person because I would always, always, either have crazy ridges and imperfections on my nails, have peeling, or touch them while they were drying - always.
So once these arrived, I tried it out straightaway. and, I am so pleased with the results !!
Ridge filler made my nails so smooth, no ridges or bumps,
Nail Envy, although I have yet to see the long term effects, is a really good base and top,
And Drip Dry, omg, is my saviour. It helped dry my nails so quick that I didn't have time to forget that I had wet nails and touch something.

Now to the colours, didn't like them as much as I thought I would, which is unfortunate given that they are so similar.

Mermaid's Tears came out last year I think as a part of the POTC Collection, and Thanks a Windmillion this year as a part of the Holland Collection. Both are a minty-ish, green / blue colour, with Thanks a Windmillion being a little more grey.
When I used it, I was a little disappointed since I thought that they would be a little more of a pastel mint. So,... I mixed white in. (On a little palette, not the whole bottle !) (:  I like the colour a whole lot more, but the consistency not so much, its much more thicker, and less smooth and slightly streaky mixed and does not go on as nicely. So, I won't show a picture, cause it would kinda contradict what I said earlier about my nails being super nice, cause after I mixed in white, they aren't as nice... ):
Thanks a Windmillion- Left
Mermaid's Tears- Right

Andddd yea, I guess if you have unhealthy nails like me, grab yourself Nail Envy and Ridge Filler ! Or if you have a tendency to forget that your nails are wet, - Drip Dry is the answer !
And OPI still remains the leaders of awesome nail polishes (and nail polish names.)

23 August 2012

a little bit of spring.

burgundy and maroon have slowly been fading from the streets and as much as I love them, I'm loving the current colour trends even more. Pastels. Specifically mint and lilac (and peach I guess).
Diane Von Furstenberg, Vera Wang, Tibi

Gucci, Louise Goldin, Josh Goot, Roksanda Illincic.

I haved loved lilac since forever and mint ever since Chanel released their nail polish in Jade ( Its pretty close to a minty colour okay ? )
After I became obsessed with these colours all over again, I went straight online and snagged OPI's Thanks a Windmillion (Holland Colletion) and Mermaid Tears (Pirates of the Carribean Collection), both are really similar pale minty colours and frankly, I don't know why I bought both...

omg, also, soon, when I have time to go shopping, (ugh, study) I'm going to run to the shops and grab myself jeans. In mint. And lilac. And peach. Yum.
Cause really, what is better than warming up the last bits of winter with a little bit of spring ? (':
xx

edit :
went out today and look !

total was around $100, the jeans were $40 each from Glassons, and the tops totalled $20 from Myers ! They have this huge sale going on right now for some reason. hahahah. :DD
