OPI Haul & Review; Ridge Filler, Nail Envy, Drip Dry, Thanks a Windmillion, Mermaid Tears

My latest online purchase arrived in the mail today !
Perfect excuse to ditch the books and procrastinate. (':

I bought OPI's Ridge Filler, Nail Envy, Drip Dry and two colours; Thanks a Windmillion and Mermaid Tears.
Kinda a stupid choice given they are almost the exact same colour, a darkish minty greeny colour, ahhahah... except that TAW is a bit more grey.

LOVE LOVE LOVE, Ridge Filler, Nail Envy and Drip Dry !!
I was never really a nails person because I would always, always, either have crazy ridges and imperfections on my nails, have peeling, or touch them while they were drying - always.
So once these arrived, I tried it out straightaway. and, I am so pleased with the results !!
Ridge filler made my nails so smooth, no ridges or bumps,
Nail Envy, although I have yet to see the long term effects, is a really good base and top,
And Drip Dry, omg, is my saviour. It helped dry my nails so quick that I didn't have time to forget that I had wet nails and touch something.

Now to the colours, didn't like them as much as I thought I would, which is unfortunate given that they are so similar.

Mermaid's Tears came out last year I think as a part of the POTC Collection, and Thanks a Windmillion this year as a part of the Holland Collection. Both are a minty-ish, green / blue colour, with Thanks a Windmillion being a little more grey.
When I used it, I was a little disappointed since I thought that they would be a little more of a pastel mint. So,... I mixed white in. (On a little palette, not the whole bottle !) (:  I like the colour a whole lot more, but the consistency not so much, its much more thicker, and less smooth and slightly streaky mixed and does not go on as nicely. So, I won't show a picture, cause it would kinda contradict what I said earlier about my nails being super nice, cause after I mixed in white, they aren't as nice... ):
Thanks a Windmillion- Left
Mermaid's Tears- Right

Andddd yea, I guess if you have unhealthy nails like me, grab yourself Nail Envy and Ridge Filler ! Or if you have a tendency to forget that your nails are wet, - Drip Dry is the answer !
And OPI still remains the leaders of awesome nail polishes (and nail polish names.)

a little bit of spring.

burgundy and maroon have slowly been fading from the streets and as much as I love them, I'm loving the current colour trends even more. Pastels. Specifically mint and lilac (and peach I guess).
Diane Von Furstenberg, Vera Wang, Tibi

Gucci, Louise Goldin, Josh Goot, Roksanda Illincic.

I haved loved lilac since forever and mint ever since Chanel released their nail polish in Jade ( Its pretty close to a minty colour okay ? )
After I became obsessed with these colours all over again, I went straight online and snagged OPI's Thanks a Windmillion (Holland Colletion) and Mermaid Tears (Pirates of the Carribean Collection), both are really similar pale minty colours and frankly, I don't know why I bought both...

omg, also, soon, when I have time to go shopping, (ugh, study) I'm going to run to the shops and grab myself jeans. In mint. And lilac. And peach. Yum.
Cause really, what is better than warming up the last bits of winter with a little bit of spring ? (':
xx

edit :
went out today and look !

total was around $100, the jeans were $40 each from Glassons, and the tops totalled $20 from Myers ! They have this huge sale going on right now for some reason. hahahah. :DD

21 July 2012

Snoooow !

Boarding !!
(ignore ugly hired clothes please. hahah)
So, recently I went to the snow !
We were mostly at Smiggin Holes but we also went up to Perisher Blue, which I personally didn't like as much because there were a loot more people. Even though the lift was cooler.
It was with a school group and it was amazingly fun. - apart from the parts where I was falling every one meter down the mountain hahaha.

I was one of the three (out of around 46) that chose to do snowboarding. and in those three, I was the only one who hadn't boarded before. ):

Let me tell you this. Snowboarding is a lot harder than it looks. seriously.
If you don't want to get hurt at all, go skiing, it's so much easier (but less fun. hahaha.)
as I said like fifty times when I was there, skiing is easier to pick up but harder to get good at (omg, i hate it when the skis cross) whereas snowboarding is harder to pick up and easier to get good at.

I was actually in so much pain when I got back, I couldn't walk properly or lift my arms. I was also covered in bruises. (I even had one on my cheek, but that was from running headfirst into a glass door and then being unlucky enough to have a snowboard fall on the same place the next day.. Yea.. I know..)
When snowboarding, its so important to learn the S-Bend, seriously, because I couldn't do it, I heel-sided, basically when you dig your heels in and lift your toes, all the way down when wanting to go slow, which put so much pressure onto my thighs. Which hurt. A lot.

Another thing. Practise before getting off the lift !!! Seriously, the most embarrassing thing I did was not falling over 34817289370413 times and making my instructor hate me, falling while on the J-Bar, or running into the glass door, but it was getting off the chairlift and stacking it on the ramp every. single. time.
In my defense, it was steep, and icy. okay.

I promise you, this was on purpose. I swear ! Hahahah, I curled into a ball cause I was so tired, and after I got up my friend told me to do it again so she could take a picture. True story.
    .
Anyway, the three days, only two which we actually spent in the snow were so much fun, but so tiring. After the last run, my legs were literally trembling. hahahah.
Back to school tomorrow. Nooooooooo..
